Industry & consultancy
Separately from my research on finance, I apply machine learning to business and public-sector problems of all kinds. Since 2020 I have led around 30 funded projects with companies and public bodies, including 10 Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) with Innovate UK and six projects with the General Lighthouse Authorities. Across my career, my grants total about £3.4M.

A programme running since 2021: three phases on the applicability of machine learning to GLA services, work on representing aids to navigation in AI models, statistical analysis of faults, machine vision, and a KTP (2025).
